Abstract

Background:  To evaluate and compare clinically and radiographically the efficacy of an alloplast (BiograftHT®*), Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) and a combination of both in the treatment of intrabony defects.  Materials and methods: A total number of 45 sites in 17 subjects were selected for the study and divided in three groups on basis of material use for treatment i.e platelet rich fibrin (PRF) and biograft-HT® and combination. Patients were allotted randomly to the above groups with the help of GraphPad software. Results: The statistical analysis was done using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Version 15.0 statistical Analysis Software. The values were represented in Number (%) and Mean±SD. At baseline there was no statistically significant difference between the 3 groups, upon the studied parameters. This rule out any bias towards the outcome of the study. Conclusion: Addition of platelet concentrate to the alloplastic material has no added benefit on bone levels when compared to the alloplastic and platelet concentrate alone.
