Abstract

Background:  Face is the most variable part of the body. It permits distinction between races ethnic groups, sexes and even members of the same family. Variability is manifested by the different sizes and shapes of the individual features and even more by the relationships of features to each other. Facial qualities such as harmony, disharmony, or dis-proportion previously only verbally defined can be determined quantitatively by physical anthropometry, In the past few decades, anthropometry, a method of physical anthropology, developed centuries ago, has been re-instated as a clinical method of measurement in new more sophisticated forms. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but objective esthetic evaluation is mandatory to find out the exact problem on a scientific basis. Keywords: Anthropometric study, Le forte one osteotomy, cleft palate
