Abstract


ackground:  Sleep being a fascinating aspect of life is important for relaxation and also for decisive influence on neuronal regenerative processes, behavioural patterns, and metabolic recovery through physiologic and cognitive factors. Prosthodontists have a significant role in diagnosis, management and care of patients suffering from Sleep Apnoea (SA). Oral appliances (OA) are simpler alternative to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). It is a non-surgical management which is quite simple, portable, economical and do not require a power source. It is the first line of treatment in almost all patients having Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The simplicity and cost makes its use applicable to a wide range of patients for the potential preservation of oral structures.
