Abstract

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains autologous concentration of platelets. PRP is rich in various cytokines and growth factors, because of which it can aid in tissue repair and regeneration. It has a variety of dental applications, including alveolar ridge preservation, alveolar bone transplantation, and improving the healing process, among others. Because of the presence of certain bioactive components, it can be used in
orthodontics to help with tooth movement. This review article aims to present all the current information available on PRP and its association with accelerated orthodontic tooth movement.
