Abstract

 An impression is an imprint produced by “the pressure of one thing upon or into the surface of another” or the negative likeness. Only when 
we have a thorough knowledge of materials, their qualities, and techniques of manipulation, we can produce an impression of high quality. 
To generate duplications as accurately as possible, various impression techniques have been developed. Each technique has advantages and 
disadvantages of its own. This paper aims to review all impression-taking methods used in fixed prosthodontics
