Abstract

Background:  Promising clinical results and studies comparing endosequence root repair material to MTA in biocompatibility, sealing, bioactivity and antimicrobial properties favour its use for Apexification procedure. Some in vitro studies indicate these materials to reinforce the roots and increase their resistance to fracture. This report describes the successful treatment of a young boy with a traumatized incisor that developed into a malformed, immature, tooth that needed prompt relief when he developed a labial sinus with symptoms of pain and was referred for endodontic treatment. The right central incisor was endodontically treated with apexification using Endosequence repair material to form an apical barrier. Follow up recalls exhibited healing bone formation and root maturation indicating successful prospective outcome for the material.
