Abstract


This review article aims to see in detail about the uses and application of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) in dentistry. SDF is used for preventing and arresting caries. SDF is a bactericidal agent which inhibits demineralization of enamel and dentine and promotes remineralization. It is mainly used in young children and children with special needs, since its application is simple and painless. This intervention can be applied as soon as the caries is detected.
