Abstract

Biomarkers play a crucial role in understanding orthodontic tooth movement, bone remodeling, and periodontal health. This review explores various biomarkers associated with orthodontic treatment, including their significance in diagnosis, monitoring, and predicting treatment outcomes. The study discusses genetic, salivary, and gingival crevicular fluid biomarkers, as well as their relevance in pain perception and tissue remodeling. In addition, the review covers the types of biomarkers, dyes used for biomarker detection, and tests for biomarker analysis. By integrating biomarker analysis, orthodontic treatment can become more personalized and efficient. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the types, mechanisms, and clinical applications of biomarkers in orthodontics, emphasizing their potential to revolutionize diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
