Background: Dental implant treatment is a great reliever for people without teeth. But conventional dental implant therapy’s biggest drawback has been the length of time required by traditional placement protocols. Moreover Crestal Implant is placed when there is enough vertical bone but with patients with atrophied jaws receive little or sometimes no treatment. In atrophied cases bone augmentation procedures is done which increases the risks and cost of dental implant treatment. This article highlights the use of basal implants and their comparison with the traditional implants.
