Background: Currently, dental implants are widely accepted as a prosthetic treatment of completely or partially edentulous patients. However; differential failure rates have also been reported in patients undergoing dental implant procedures. Hence; we planned the present study to assess the incidence of various complications in patients undergoing prosthetic rehabilitated of missing teeth with dental implants. Materials & methods: The present study included assessment of incidence of various complications in patients undergoing prosthetic rehabilitated of missing teeth with dental implants. A total of 200 patients were included in the present study over a time period of two years. Radiographic analysis was done in all the patients and treatment planning was done. Experienced prosthodontists carried the dental implant procedure in all the patients. All the patients were recalled for follow-up and records were maintained for assessing the posttreatment complications. Results: Complications were found to be present in 7 percent of the patients. Among these complications, Mucositis, Peri-implantitis, Prosthetic teeth fracture, Prosthetic base fracture and Dental implant failure were the most common complications present. Conclusion: Mucositis and Peri-implantitis are the most common complications due to food lodgment present in patients undergoing prosthetic rehabilitation of missing teeth by dental implants.
