Abstract

Background:  One of the paramount indicators of periodontitis is periodontal pocket. Therefore, precise evaluation of periodontal pocket is a key for detection of periodontitis. Most dependable way to calculate and detect periodontal pocket is by means of periodontal probes. Periodontal probes also have various other uses other than detecting periodontal pocket. These days there are lot of advances in periodontal probing systems, however still first-generation probes remain clinicians favorite diagnosing instrument.
